Training days bring trainees together to explore teaching and learning, discuss ideas and connect professional knowledge with school practice. They are an important part of developing alongside others.

Lesson feedback, professional conversations and reflection help you identify next steps. You work with mentors and programme colleagues as your practice develops.
Through your university partnership
Liverpool Hope University contributes academic and specialist learning to the programme. Successful completion leads to a PGCE and QTS.

Where does training take place?
Training combines time in school with professional learning sessions. HFC’s published information identifies facilities in Bebington, Wirral. Ask the team for the confirmed venues and timetable for your entry year.
Will my placement be close to home?
Discuss travel needs with the team early. Placement arrangements depend on the programme and available schools, so a particular school or journey cannot be guaranteed.
What does a typical week look like?
The balance changes across the training year. Ask HFC for the current timetable for your chosen route, including training days, school experience and study commitments.
What are Intensive Training and Practice experiences?
They provide focused opportunities to explore important aspects of teaching, observe practice, reflect and apply what you have learned.
